General Description of Job
 
Reporting to the Transport Manager via the Shift Supervisor a Driver is to ensure the provision of professional driving for all nominated tasks as required to meet or exceed  customer expectations and TSSP contractual needs at all times. 
 
Primary task is to provide transportation to support TSSP operations as detailed 24 Hrs a day 365 days a year.
 
To carry out vehicle valeting and refuelling and any other general duties as required.
 
Carry out vehicle maintenance checks as required.
 
Main Tasks
 
Any/All driving tasks as detailed on shift to support TSSP operations.
Daily/weekly and any other maintenance required to ensure vehicle availability to support TSSP operations.
Undertake any driving duties as required by the Contract in any location atany time.
Control all Vehicle related administration within VOSA/RAFMT /DGSA & BABCOCK guidelines.
Ensure all aspects of the MT contract are fulfilled within the required time frames and budget.
Ensure all personal vocational licenses, medicals and competencies are maintained.
Communicate with the customer, Transport Manager and Shift Supervisor daily or as required to ensure possible contract failures are avoided.
Promote best practice, report bad practice and non-compliance and take preventative action to ensure continual improvement in the organisation.
Champion a Total safety Approach. Ensure full compliance at all times with all relevant Health, Safety and Environment regulations and exercise a Duty of Care promoting a positive approach towards workplace health and safety
Must meet eye colour vision of CP2/CP3 for airfield airside operations.
Mentor new starters.
Adhere to and champion all Babcock Policies e.g. Being Babcock, Diversity, Home Safe, Dignity & Respect.
Carry out any other duties as required to support the contract.
 
Technical Experience and Qualifications
 
Essential
 
PSV, LGV & ADR qualified.
Clean Driving Licence.
Working knowledge of RAF/VOSA/DGSA and Babcock Transport administration.
Working knowledge of Transport & Driver legal requirements.
Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards required.
Experience of working within a military environment.
Familiar with Military Documentation.
 
Desirable
 
Full Driver CPC currency.
LGV, PSV UK and European CPC license.
Military or Civilan airside operational experience.
