Skilled Trades Person - Gun Fitter/Armourer
Inspection, servicing, repair, overhaul and conditioning of Armament, Ordnance and Weapon mountings, sight systems and general equipment including diagnostic inspection and examination duties. Manufacture of miscellaneous items as per AESP. Carry out equipment examination and processing all documentation required.
Service, repair, diagnose, inspect and re-furbishment of tracked and wheeled military vehicles and mechanical equipment associated with military use.

Service, repair, diagnose, inspect and re-furbishment of tracked and wheeled military vehicles and mechanical equipment associated with military use.
Main Tasks
Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes and technical publications.
To be responsible and accountable for the quality of own work by signature at inspection, and the completion of associated documentation in support of inspection/repair (including Failure reports, weapons examination documentation and inspection reports).
Maintain service and repair up to level 4 overhaul of 105mm Light Gun.
Maintain weapon hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Maintain miscellaneous instrumentation.
Carry out maintenance inspections on armament equipment.
Carry out Examination of Ordnance.
Perform Basic engineering skills including fabrication and repair of weapon components, carry out general manufacture and repair tasks.
Work unsupervised.
Operate Workshop and vehicle mounted cranes.
Technical Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Must have completed recognised Military or Civilian training in the relevant trade discipline or a recognised accredited Apprenticeship in relevant discipline.
Attained at least one of the following minimum academic qualifications:
• City & Guilds Level 1, 2 & 3 (in the relevant trade discipline)
• Class 1 Armourer
• ONC (in the relevant trade discipline)
• NVQ Level 3 (in the relevant trade discipline)
Weapon General Practice Training
Must be trained in the basic principles of fitting, including filing, sawing, chiselling, screw-and-nut threading, drilling and turning.
Equipment specific training (CR2)
Examination of Ordnance

Security and ITAR
Successful candidates must be able to satisfy Ministry of Defence (MOD) Security requirements.
This role may be subject to US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) legislative requirements and therefore the successful candidate must meet and demonstrate the criteria stipulated within the ITAR.
