Job Details

We wish to appoint a Project Manager responsible for the planning, co-ordination and management of construction and property related projects across the contract, successfully delivering multiple projects focused on company objectives of providing a safe, compliant and productive workplace. To be based in either Minley or Medway .
Main Tasks
  • Provision of a range of construction, property and infrastructure related project management activities to support the company objectives, including skills in planning, business case creation, resource allocation, and budget management
  • Leadership and expertise in project management to support Estate wide projects, including new build, refurbishment, fit-out, alterations, and client driven projects of varied cost and complexity, delivering to pre-agreed objectives and target, in a safe, compliant and efficient manner
  • Line management responsibility for technical delivery staff consisting of  - Technical Officers, Mechanical, Electrical, and Building & Civil Engineering
  • Management of RIBA plan of works stages 0-6
  • Organisation, co-ordination and prioritisation of construction / property related projects across the contract
  • Ensure compliance with all established procurement / contractual / commercial strategies
  • Management of procurement processes relating to construction project management including production of tender and contract documents
  • Preparation and management of key stage reports from feasibility through to completion and post evaluation stages, including business cases
  • Responsibility for production of professional project management documentation including detailed management programmes
  • Supporting stakeholder management
  • Work collaboratively supporting others when required
  • Support to the Lead Projects Manager as required
  • Ensure professional and diligent approach to project meetings, documentation, reporting, and minutes
  • Preparation of progress reports and presentation to senior colleagues and client representatives
  • Ensure appropriate levels of health and safety, environmental, sustainability, and company policy compliance are in place on company projects at all times
  • Commitment to keep personal development (CPD) up to date, and to keep abreast of industry legislation and commercial development that could impact the company
  • Complete any other tasks that are deemed within your area of competence
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
  • Construction Project Management Degree or Similar comparable Qualification
  • In possession of or working towards Chartered Membership of Relevant industry body such as RICS CABE CIBSE.
  • Extensive technical expertise and experience in a comparable role gained in a similar environment or end user client.
  • Minimum three years' experience in project management related discipline.
  • Experience in the application of project management practical techniques to enable monitoring and control of multiple programs and projects.
  • Evidence of successful delivery of building services and construction related projects.
  • Experience in producing and evaluating Risk assessment and Method Statements.
  • Experience of working with Listed Building and Historic England
  • Knowledge of Joint Services Publication (JSP) Documents.
  • Good working knowledge of construction and property contracts and ability to give advice on the same to senior colleagues (e.g. JCT form of contract)
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
  • Hold a driving license suitable for use in the UK
  • Proven track record of working within a busy customer focused organization
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations 2015 and any further amendments.
  • Qualified IOSH Managing Safely
  • (Desirable)Knowledge of Joint Services Publication (JSP) Documents. Skills Profile:
  • Experience of working in a team to deliver successful projects on time and to budget, with demonstrable ability to prioritise and co-ordinate multiple work streams and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral, and awareness of appropriate use of social media in the workplace
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to work to tight deadlines in demanding environment
  • Ability to assimilate analyse and present multiple complex data sets, and produce succinct reporting documents
  • Flexible approach to working outside normal working hours and taking part in the On-Call rota where required
  • Confidence and interpersonal skills to engage at all levels, including management of customer expectations Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships
  • Well organised, tenacious, diligent, proactive, and assertive Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations; resilient and tenacious with a tendency to persevere.
  • experience of handling conflict and managing sensitive issues to achieve positive outcomes

  • Organised with a natural inclination for planning and problem solving and root cause identification skills.
