OVERALL PURPOSE

• Assist with the provision of technical support.

Main Activities

• Assist with the provision of technical support.

Specific Job Requirements

• Assist with surveys and planning and programming of work.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of all records to meet Contract specification.
• Assist with the production of registers for management reports.
• Assist in the costing of technical activities within track renewals work.

• Assist with the preparation of Work Package Plans.
• Provide other technical assistance as required.

Knowledge

• Good knowledge of track renewals work.
• Knowledge of Rules and Regulations, HASAW and other appropriate regulations.
• Knowledge of Group and Line Standards.
• Able to drive or willing to learn.

Skills & Abilities

• ONC in an Engineering discipline or working towards same.
• Competencies as specified in the appropriate Core Competence profile
• Good IT skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Experience Preferably at least one years experience in an Engineering discipline.

Must be able to carry out surveying and setting out duties using traditional and modern equipment. May be able to work independently or under experienced supervision.

Must be able to carry out control of excavation and construction of track duties using
traditional and modern equipment. May be able to work independently or under
experienced supervision.
