Permanent Contract  

Part Time 20 hours Per week (Mon – Fri 10 – 2)

A strategic alliance has been formed between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in order to enable both forces to meet the challenge of reducing policing budgets. By working more closely together the forces will benefit from greater operational and organisational resilience, making us the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales. 

The main purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the Digital Forensics Unit, responsible for assisting to maximise the evidential potential for all submissions to the unit. 

Main Responsibilities:

Receive and return electronic and physical exhibits into the unit and ensure they are booked onto the various systems, maintaining integrity and continuity, to be compliant with Quality standards and legislative requirements.

To undertake general administration procedures, including the input, storage, retrieval and maintenance of data from electronic databases.

Input and interrogation of various computer systems across the alliance with regards to relevant forensic and associated information.

Report findings from the above interrogation, identifying any information gaps. Preparation and maintenance of reports and spreadsheets where required.

Prepare statements and attend court, as and when required, in respect of the movement of exhibits.

To oversee stationery supplies within the unit, ensuring that adequate stock is maintained and ordering more where necessary. 

Act as a point of contact for queries relating to external forensic providers, outsourcing suppliers, invoices and all administrative support to the unit

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

Experience/Skills:  

5 A-C grade GCSE’s (or equivalent) including English Language

Experience in busy administrative environment

Proven Computer Skills / Office word and excel skills etc.

The ability to work as part of a team

Able to communicate clearly both in writing and orally

Ability to accurately record minutes of meetings 

Special Conditions

The duties of this post may include exposure to disturbing or unpleasant images or tasks and witness statements.
