Mechanical Engineer - Mechanical Handling

As a Mechanical Engineer you'll provide design solutions and take responsibility for the delivery of single-discipline work packages to programme, budget, and required quality. It is not essential that you have nuclear industry experience, but preference will be given to candidates that do have it.

Job Description

Working with a team of designers you'll coordinate the production of Design Schemes, Design Proposal Drawings, Detail Drawings, Functional Specifications, Technical Reports, Justification Reports and undertake the checking of mechanical deliverables.

Qualifications / Experience

HNC-level or an equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
Experience of producing mechanical design deliverables, preferably within the nuclear industry
Good knowledge and hands on experience of fabrication techniques, geometric tolerancing, weld symbols, limits and fits and surface finish
A working knowledge of Inventor and AutoCAD too
As well having knowledge and experience in applying relevant EH&S legislation and directives, you'll need to have taken part in designers risk assessments, design reviews and (ideally) in HAZOP studies.
