  • Respect people and value their diversity
  • Thrive on complexity
  • Trust our people to deliver

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in the production of an 'Opportunity Analysis' by reviewing the Sector's bid pipeline to identify bids with a material supply chain element and opportunities for leveraging common requirements across bids.
  • Work alongside the bid teams to support the development of proposals and tenders and participate in relevant customer dialogue where appropriate.
  • Define and deliver the Procurement Plan aligned with the overall bid project plan
  • Provide high-quality P&SC materials for inclusion in bids to reflect the best functional practices in the Group.
  • Identify the most appropriate supply solution in terms of capability, risk profile and total cost of ownership to deliver the capability required to support new business opportunities.
  • Analyze the competitor landscape to understand any shortfalls or gaps in supply chain capability and potential innovative solutions.
  • Follow trends in supply markets and research into innovative supply solution / technology road maps as required.
  • Manage supplier relationships throughout the bid process as appropriate.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to ensure that existing Babcock supply chain trading relationships, capability and best practices are leveraged
  • Deliver robust contract management, implementing negotiated agreements and managing supplier relationships, including management of post contract award variations and risks.
  • Manage key stakeholders through the mobilization activity, including project leads, functional leads and line of business leads
  • Provide high quality reporting on milestones, risks and identify in a timely manner where additional resources and support may be required
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the sector, working as an integral part of bid teams to ensure alignment with bid strategies.
  • Devise clear objectives with the Head of Procurement, develop action plans and participate in regular performance reviews.
  • Support functional development and continuous improvement or sustainable, effective bid support, including sharing best practice, development of high quality bid materials / templates, post bid-reviews
  • Promote innovation by bringing a transformational mind-set to the P&SC function, influencing others to build consensus behind initiatives and to challenge the status quo.
  • Raise the profile of the P&SC function through active engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Support the Head of Procurement and other functional colleagues to ensure that the P&SC 'brand' remains strong and that our overall functional objectives are achieved.
  • Be a visible 'role model' through your professionalism, commitment, commerciality and focus. Demonstrate a motivated and results-focused approach, promoting a culture of trust, teamwork, continuous improvement and customer focus.
