Role Summary/Purpose:
    The Supplier Performance Specialist is responsible for improving the quality, delivery & capacity of the supply chain utilising various techniques including Lean and Six Sigma. will work directly with a wide range of external vendors to identify, assess and develop, capabilities, processes and procedures, ensuring rate readiness for selected programmes through capacity reviews and development plans and lead deep dive problem solving and recovery plans to address Supplier performance issues.
Essential Responsibilities:
    The Supplier Performance Specialist will develop practical and innovative ways to identify and meet supplier improvement goals. In this role, you will be responsible for utilising your understanding and experience to drive short-term and long-term business goals to achieve business objectives and.
  • Drive process efficiency, simplification and effectiveness that supports a zero defect to customer approach resulting in on-time delivery of goods
  • Provide sourcing leadership through proactively working with suppliers to assess capability and capacity to support business needs and programme demand requirements.
  • Provide performance assessment data to support supplier selection for work packages.
  • Investigate critical external supply issues and establish recovery plans
  • Facilitate the collection and analysis of data to effectively measure and report performance
  • Identify and implement saving opportunities related to supplier processes, procedures, cycle time reduction, productivity improvements, and digitization initiatives.
  • This role will have up to 80% travel associated
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or relevant prior experience
  • Experience in a supply chain development, continuous improvement or sourcing role.
  • This role will require travel to vendors up to 50% of the time.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills - demonstrated ability to work at all levels with third party organisations
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience of supplier/contract management
  • Knowledge manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems.
  • Strong influencing skills within a matrix organization
