Role Summary/Purpose:
    The New Product Introduction Sourcing Lead is responsible for the introduction of newly sourced technology materials to meet the requirements of new development programs, the scope of activity will vary from project to project but shall include selection and development of the supply base, influence of the sourcing strategy and implementation of new product technologies and processes to meet customer requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • NPI sourcing project management
  • Act as business programs sourcing focal and serve as a subject matter expert
  • Drive proactive involvement in all functional activities, including Sourcing Commodity, Subcontract and Engineering Services, to ensure that sourcing has earliest possible engagement in all new programs to deliver best sourcing approach and strong value to the business
  • Develop and drive a Total Cost of Ownership approach with global supply base
  • Drive technical innovation in the supply base to deliver solutions related to program / customer needs
  • Develop technology road maps in respect of future business opportunities
  • Lead technology program sourcing strategy, assessing supplier capabilities and making source selection (new materials, processes and suppliers)
  • Support Make V's Buy assessment and presentation of proposals
  • Drive Design For Cost and Design For Manufacture (DFx) methodology
  • Ensure NPI technology materials are ready for serial production
  • Commercial input into bids and proposals for technology enablers and major subcontract products
  • Conduct competitive analysis of new technology supplier products / services
  • Contract with suppliers for new technology materials, processes
  • NPI Tollgate process responsible 0-9 (Bid to supplier readiness confirmation)
  • Manage supplier addressable costs for new technology materials in support of program budgets
  • Manage supplier schedule in support of program timescales
  • PIA, NDA, TAA, MLA awareness
  • Understand and be accountable for sourcing compliance and its documentation (P.O. Folders, CAPA, TINA, Export etc.)
  • Implementing Supplier Risk management strategies
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Engineering degree, HND or B-Tec qualified or equivalent knowledge and experience
