Use your skills to help keep people safe, both at home and abroad
As terrorism evolves, we need to be ready to respond and protect our communities. That means continually adapting our Counter Terrorism (CT) network to keep pace with changing threats to security. Our analysts are working hard to assess our current model and make improvements where they can. In this new role, you’ll support their work in this hugely complex and critical area.
As a Business Analyst Support, you can have a direct impact on the way we tackle terrorism. You’ll join our Strategic Design Authority (SDA), a rapidly growing unit within the National Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (NCTPHQ). Your main task will be to provide analysis which shows how well our CT network is delivering it services. You’ll capture ‘as is’ information in key areas, talking to stakeholders and documenting your findings. With this data, we can develop a high level ‘to be’ design and business operating model, and create solutions to address any gaps in capability. In short, you’ll be shaping our CT network and how it operates.
This work will bring you into contact with people across the UK CT network. You’ll be building relationships, organising information and making sure it meets standards for consistency and accuracy. You therefore need good communication skills and the ability to negotiate, but analytical reasoning skills will be just as important.
Perhaps you’re a researcher, an analyst or involved in management consulting. Whatever your background, you must be used to identifying, collecting and presenting information that we can analyse for insight. The goal is to make the complex easy to understand, so we can understand our current CT response and see where it needs to improve. An organised approach is essential in order to meet deadlines and work with the rest of the team.
