We currently have an opportunity for a Duty Coordinator to join our Retail team at Babcock, working within the Hospitality & Retail Services team at HM Naval Base Clyde.
 
As a Duty Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing first class service to customers of three separate facilities - a convenience store, coffee shop and bowling alley. Specific responsibilities will include serving customers, replenishing stock and handling and reconciling cash.
 
Additionally, you will oversee the activities of a team of Retail Assistants, taking responsibility for their day-to-day tasking and will act as a key holder when on duty.
 
Please note that successful applicants will be required to cover a rotational working pattern, with flexibility required between 0600 and 2130 Monday to Sunday.
 
The rate of pay for this role will be £9.75 per hour.
 
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a passion for delivering a great customer experience and who are able to work under their own initiative. Calculation and cash handling skills are essential.  Ideally we're looking for previous experience within retail or leisure based environments. Previous supervisory experience would be desirable, but is not essential. Key areas of competency we require are as follows:
  • Previous experience in customer facing roles
  • Numeracy skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid Driving Licence

Security
Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.
The role will be in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. This may require you to meet enhanced security and regular screening checks.
 
Description of Location
This role is based at HMNB Clyde, located at Faslane, 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider area. For this role, it is important that staff are able to arrange their own method of transport as public transport does not necessarily coincide with potential shift patterns.
