The team is responsible for delivering in-sourced IT infrastructure solutions for the business, with a focus on select services that enable our engineering teams and their development and production systems. This spans an international workforce to provide global and localised services. The team itself is also internationally distributed. We are organised around a product team structure with roles focussed on delivery, engineering and architecture.
The Product Architect works as part of a dedicated Product Team, responsible for governing the development of the Product while protecting the live estate, working in a mixed infrastructure environment including Hosted, Domain Separated and On-Premise solutions. The role will have accountability for the technical aspects pertaining to the delivery of Products in scope.
This role provides a large scope to bring in new ideas, implement change and drive forward the technology and the team to exploit Product capability effectively and efficiently.
Working with the Product Owner the role will drive innovative architectures while maintaining a balance with customer needs and future proofing of the long term solution, including managing any risk to the product.

The Product Architect is:
Responsible for developing and standardizing our technology services, which specifically includes the development of our hosting and cloud capability, using a mixture of Azure, AWS and VMware infrastructures Responsible for developing overarching solutions that supports a variety of engineering and product system requirements, driving through the use of standardized solutions and pattern-drive architecture. Appreciation of modern SDLC’s and tooling will be essential for this role. Responsible for maximizing our infrastructure and operational patterns and processes to maximize efficiency. This will include infrastructure as code and use of automation techniques to minimize the amount of manual work required Responsible for directing technical standards, providing product architecture and technical roadmap and ensuring technical governance. Responsible for ensuring the technical capability of the Product performs to high standards and accountable for protecting the Product Teams from technical debt. Responsible for building really strong technical standards and making sure that they clearly understand their product’s technical roadmap and architecture. They will also build technical level relationships with key suppliers and manage these in a responsible and ethical manner. They will share the technical context and challenge and will seek partnership and alignment of vision and goals. Accountable for the technical solution delivered and will direct the solution that is built and maintained. A key responsibility will be in designing for support as well as designing to meet customer requirements. They will recognise that business value comes from various technical capabilities. Responsible for the product architecture and design; driving quality through peer reviews, implementing best practices and sharing your knowledge across the team of the Product Engineers. Responsible for championing the appropriate use of Agile and DevOps best practices to drive continuous delivery at an ever increasing pace while maintaining the high levels of service to an “always on” platform. Communicating with suppliers to understand their own roadmaps and how can make the most of emerging technologies and features from the platform as well as being viewed as an industry expert to our customers
