General Description of Job

Based primarily at RAF Scampton, but assisting at RAFC Cranwell if required, the ASE Electrical Technician will be part of a small team of technicians responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of all relevant contracted services, to enable the ASE team to meet contracted commitments delivering high levels of service, both on the line and in workshop environments, to both RAF Scampton and RAFC Cranwell. The ASE Electrical Technician will report through the ASE Team Leader to the General Engineering Manager.

Main Tasks

  • Maintain Major and Minor Electrical ASE and other electrical equipment (Non ASE) iaw JAP(D)100E-10 and DAP119F-0010-5F to support relevant RAF units and parented Units.
  • Maintain Battery Charging Room equipment to First and Second Level maintenance iaw AP 120C-0001-1
  • Maintain Battery Charging Room equipment to First and Second Level maintenance iaw AP 120C-0001-1
  • In conjunction with the ASE Mechanical Technician, undertake First and Second Level maintenance and switching of airfield arrester barrier equipment at RAF Scampton.
  • Electrical rectification & maintenance of specialist vehicle systems.
  • Installation of Temporary Power Supplies to support Military training exercises - support to RAFC Cranwell as and when required, co-ordinated through the RAF Cranwell General Engineering Manager
  • Assist with Erection / Dismantling of Temporary Seating for graduations - support to RAFC Cranwell as and when required , co-ordinated through the RAFC Cranwell General Engineering Manager



  • EX TG5 Gen Tech E or civilian equivalent.
  • Level 3 Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Clean driving Licence + Colour Perception 2 safe (Airfield driving).
  • PC Literate with experience of MS office.
  • Ability to demonstrate the practical and theoretical standards required of the role


  • 17th Edition IEE regulations certified
  • Knowledge of MOD Engineering procedures/documentation
  • Good IT Skills
