RF Test Technician

Role Overview
Perform R.F. Functional testing of products to support production manufacture and also as required, the engineering function. Processing and presentation of test data in a timely and accurate fashion and communicate effectively with departments across the organisation.

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Set-up the designated test site for the product under test.
  • Perform R.F. testing of products to the relevant test specifications.
  • Produce detailed reports of test results obtained.
  • Raise Non-Conformance reports if necessary.
  • Maintain records and databases of measurement results as required.
  • Ensure test equipment is in calibration prior to commencing testing.
  • Responsible for observing and complying with all relevant S |H| E regulations as they apply in the working environment.
  • Support improvements to working practices and techniques.


Job Specifications
Health and Safety
  • Responsible for familiarisation with the relevant risk assessments for the working area/equipment, observing the control measures and complying with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to the work being undertaken.
  • Support Quarterly workplace inspections - if required.
  • Ensure that any accidents or near misses are recorded.
  • Ensure working areas are maintained i.e. work areas are clean and tidy, appropriate storage and racking is made available and used in the intended manner.
Qualifications
  • HNC/HND electrical and electronic engineering
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an RF testing environment, preferably in high frequency antenna testing capacity. The ideal candidate would also have experience of the electrical testing of military aircraft radomes.
  • Good working knowledge of antenna test equipment including receivers and vector network analysers.
  • Conversant with Microsoft office products, in particular Word and Excel and use of macros in the latter.
