A Software Engineer is required to join the team at MASS, contributing to the design and development of software products and projects. These will be varied but are likely to include simulation/modelling tools and information systems.
The successful candidate will be required to hold security clearance to at least SC level and will have a minimum of two-three years of industry experience. You should have some familiarity working with both agile and waterfall methodologies where appropriate. You will be a self-starting and proactive individual who takes pride in quality, values team work and collaboration and is not afraid to suggest improvement ideas. A background in mathematics and simulation would be advantageous. You must be experienced with the Windows O/S and programming in at least two of C++, C# or Java.
In addition, it would be advantageous but not essential to be knowledgeable in some of the following: Unix, SQL, Agile, Waterfall, NetBeans, Visual Studio, IntelliJ, Test Driven Development, Model Base Engineering, Subversion, JIRA, MySQL, Oracle, ESRI, Defence and Computer Simulation.
A BSc in Computer Science or Software Engineering would also be advantageous but is not essential.
This Software Engineer role is for 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and based in Lincoln. The salary is negotiable plus full company benefits.
