Infrastructure Team Lead (IAAS)
In this senior role with FCO Services, you’ll make an impact on a much bigger scale. Working at the leading edge of secure technology, you’ll help to protect the UK’s interests around the world, safeguarding people and information.
You’ll be part of the team that delivers first-class digital solutions for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and other government departments. It’s a unique opportunity to understand the challenges – and increasingly advanced threats – governments face. Crucially, you’ll also have everything you need to develop innovative, intelligent answers to meet our evolving needs.
Deliver world-class digital infrastructure
As the leader of our IAAS team, your main focus will be to make sure our infrastructure is secure, resilient and fit for purpose. Day-to-day, this will involve managing our IAAS support services and ensuring the high quality of their work. We’ll look to you to take ownership of any escalated incidents, and make sure they’re investigated and resolved efficiently. You’ll also be heavily involved in designing solutions and developing systems to meet new customer requirements.
Use your technical expertise to drive improvements
First and foremost, you’ll be a proven manager who understands what it takes to develop services in a highly secure, enterprise environment. It’s also essential that you have experience of leading an IAAS, SAAS or DevOps team.
As well as strong communication and problem-solving skills, you’ll have a wide range of technical expertise. As a minimum, you’ll be qualified or certified in MS Windows, VMware, Net App and Citrix CCA. You’ll also have knowledge of Centros Linux and TCP/IP network protocols.
Make an impact on an unprecedented scale
This is an opportunity to work in a service with millions of end users in some of the UK’s most important institutions. Develop and deliver the high-quality services they expect, and you’re sure to raise your profile in many ways.
All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you’ll need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.
