Would you like to join a diverse team and use your skills to play a key role in supporting Nuclear Threat Reduction (NTR) within the UK? Our NTR team has a range of exciting opportunities available for Threat Assessment Co-Ordinators supporting both internal NTR/AWE and external customers.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates at various stages of their career who have experience working in science and engineering fields related to nuclear weapons, nuclear security, nuclear weapons policy or assessment and are seeking to develop their career with us.
Responsibilities include managing and coordinating specific customer tasking assessments to schedule, cost and quality, in support of the NTR programme and acting as the main point of contact to facilitate and organise meetings, tailored visits and workshops at AWE for external customers.
Additionally we would also expect candidates to be able to demonstrate:
- The ability to technically analyse and distil a vast amount of technical information
- A working knowledge of fundamental physics and engineering principals behind nuclear warhead technologies and the nuclear fuel cycle
- Degree or relevant experience working in a similar environment in a science/engineering discipline
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- A willingness to learn, training will be provided for all aspects of work
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and on occasions travel within the UK and overseas
