Technical Author - IEC 61187
Modis are currently recruiting for a Technical Author, who has the ability to gain SC level security clearance, for an exciting organisation based in Dorset working on Nuclear projects.
Role: Technical Author
Rate: up to £35 per hour
Duration: 6 months initially
Start Date: ASAP
Clearance: Must have the ability to gain SC level
The client is an established leader in the design, manufacture, supply, support, lifetime extension and decommissioning of I&C systems for the worldwide nuclear industry. Their specialist areas relate to safety systems and include Reactor protection and control, Neutron flux detection, specialist cables and nucleonics and radiation detection instrumentation.
The Technical Author produces a range of technical documentation required to support the clients products and systems throughout the equipment lifecycle. This includes technical specifications, product / system definitions, test procedures, document templates, installation instructions and method statements. Much of the documentation will be customer focused.
- Strong eye for detail and capacity to understand the needs of the end user.
- Sound understanding of Microsoft Word, and proficiency with other MS software, including Excel, Visio and Powerpoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - along with the ability to network and build relationships internally and externally.
- Must be able to ensure technical content adheres to and complies with any required national and international standards, typically BS EN 61010 / IEC 61187.
