Our client is looking for someone to join the team providing Network and Hardware support including base stations, laptops etc. They are seeking an experienced Support Engineer, ideally with team leading ability, who has hands on experience of network and hardware support.

You will be responsible for leading a team of 6 engineers looking after a number of sites around the Midlands area predominantly (e.g. Nottingham, Sheffield)

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • To lead the team and act as a point of escalation for the team, Provide support for the Zone Manager to allow the Zone manager to carry out enhanced Customer Liaison duties
  • Assist & proactively manage, promote and maintain all Secure Engineering Processes & Documentation
  • Be responsible for providing the correct resource levels to deliver conformant service
  • Motivate the team, providing direction to ensure the team achieves their objectives and deliver impeccable service

Skills and Experience

  • Maintaining and growing technical skill levels of the team and parallel growth in soft skills, to balance technical capability
  • Coaching and mentoring team.
  • Awareness and conformance to all relevant standards.
  • All aspects of Performance Management process completed
  • Build relationships with internal peers, stakeholders and customers as appropriate
  • Customer feedback.
  • Recognize where risk exists and communicate that risk to the appropriate channels, with a proposal to address the problem.
  • Regular review of all service issues and exceptions.
  • Encourages the use of best practice across the team, including documenting and sharing with others.
  • Adherence to standard processes.

The role is for a site based Secure Engineering Team Leader to work within Zone Midlands providing support for the Regional Zone Manager.

- The role will include but not be limited to Day to Day tasking and management for the Secure Engineers based in the zone.

- The role holder will be required to lead the team, Act as a point of escalation for the team, Provide support for the Zone Manager to allow the Zone manager to carry out enhanced Customer Liaison duties.

Tasks will include but not be limited to

  • Assist the Zone Manager with the day-to-day delivery of the Incident resolution
  • Assist & proactively manage, promote and maintain all Secure Engineering Processes & Documentation
  • Be a point of contact for escalations
  • Be responsible for providing the correct resource levels to deliver conformant service
  • Ensuring all team members complete all mandatory training within the required timescales
  • Motivate the team, providing direction to ensure the team achieves their objectives and deliver impeccable service
  • Manage Annual Leave, Absence and Training
  • Carry out monthly one to ones and be instrumental in the bi annual appraisal process

The role holder will be required to travel to various sites within the N4 Midlands defined Zone ensuring regular face to face contact with all team members.

The role holder may be required to travel outside of local zone to fulfil business requirements.
