Estates / Construction Senior Project / Programme Manager
Our client requires a DV Cleared Senior Project / Programme Manager to oversee the delivery of a portfolio which includes a number of construction projects. Manage and oversee the estates team (including 3 PM's, a PSO, a Cost Manager and a Commercial Manager) and all deliverables. Personally run a number of projects. Development and implementation of a new Operating Model for the estates team ensuring business continuity for customers whilst new way of working are implemented. Providing the creation and drive for a service culture to deliver overseas estate as required by the business. Tasks: Define and agree the scope of projects within the Portfolio with the business leads, ensuring the Portfolio remains within overall budget and achieves strategic objectives, Define and agree the scope of deliverables of specific projects within the Portfolio with your customers and team. Manage team resources to deliver Portfolio as planned. Define and agree the key milestones and deliverables of the Site works with the onsite Supplier. Responsible for optimisation of the Portfolio, where necessary managing customers' expectations to ensure that the delivery plans provide VFM and are the most economically advantageous. Ensure processes are followed and approvals obtained at appropriate times, acting as gates where necessary to the subsequent work. Manage contract and commercial aspects of the construction contract with our onsite supplier. Manage risks and issues. Produce coordinated plans for the projects and then maintain/track progress and up-date the delivery plans. Hold checkpoint meetings with the project managers. Identifying and managing the risks. Ensuring the delivery of quality products, on target, within budget and other constraints. Driving all aspects of project delivery to a successful conclusion and resolving conflict within projects and portfolio. Planning for and obtaining the appropriate levels and types of resource. Agreeing terms of reference with the project team members and the relevant directorship. Working within the standard disciplines and processes established for the project. Providing progress and status reports to the project board/programme manager and project team. Defining and managing stakeholder expectations. Able to interface with stakeholders and suppliers, and create a good impression. Essential skills/experience: Proven experience of managing a number of medium/large sized projects in the constructions industry. Previous experience of managing a construction suppliers. Ability to work within a close-knit team. Strong programme and project management experience. The ability to interpret and understand project management principles within a construction environment. Experience of project disciples such as: Prince2, MSP. Typically concurrent management of several projects across the whole life cycle including start up, C3/NEC contracts and CDM ideally. Candidate must hold DV Security clearance or able to achieve the required level.
