Babcock International Group is currently looking to appoint an Experienced Commercial Officer based in SE London at the London Fire Brigade with the requirement to travel within London to other Babcock training sites.

Babcock is contracted to deliver over 250 different training courses to the London Fire Brigade totalling some 3,500 individual classes each year. Courses are delivered across multiple locations both within London and at specialist venues outside of the M25. Babcock is responsible for the scheduling and supply of trainers, equipment and venues.

Purpose of role is to support the senior management in contract management and commercial aspects within the LFB Training Contract focusing on regular internal and external contract reviews, contract change, contractual negotiations and risk management

Ideal candidate will have a legal background with experience of contract management and a keen eye for detail and capable of carrying out financial and non-financial analysis.

Major Tasks and Activities:
  • Ensure all activities within BU are undertaken with appropriate commercial agreements in place that are compliant with Babcock policies and guidance
  • Understand contractual obligations, liabilities and customer requirements, in order to ensure that the commercial decisions deliver the best value in meeting the customer requirements and maintains Babcock risk profile
  • Own and manage contract change pipeline and contract amendments
  • Maintaining and tracking an Internal and External Commercial Log
  • Ensure all risk are actively managed and that registers are current
  • Constructively challenge business activity in order to ensure value
  • To develop and manage a compliance framework across the BU (in conjunction with the wider BU wide framework) (including Data Protection, IAMM, Risk control)

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience (Business / contract law preferable)
  • Strong, proven and demonstrable experience in a relevant commercial or related role, including a proven track record in partnering contracts
  • Willing to travel to other UK sites as required

Role Information
£45,000 - £55,000
Full Time, Permanent (Mon-Fri)
