Role Purpose
  • Assess, design, implement, handover, review, document and support SharePoint composite solutions
  • Work with the customer to gather and document business requirements
  • Implement solutions using SharePoint functionality including search, content types, sites, lists, web parts, forms, etc.
  • Create SharePoint workflows and forms using Nintex
  • Migrate sites and content between SharePoint farms using both out of the box and 3rd party migration tools
  • Ensure delivered SharePoint solutions are completed as planned and to an agreed budget
  • Delivery of the SharePoint service and configuration working with 3rd party suppliers to ensure continuous service
  • Ensure you develop personal and technical skills to ensure constant delivery of high quality services for SharePoint
  • You will be a subject matter expert in SharePoint providing guidance across the stakeholder community, working with the Information manager to ensure all applications are fit for purpose and deliver business value.
  • Engage with both agreed suppliers and agreed business users using the agreed processes and meetings
  • Ensure SharePoint services are delivered within agreed SLA timescales
  • Attend meetings when required with relevant 3rd parties
  • Be aware of any costs that are incurred and ensure the budget holder has agreed to this cost
  • Ensure delivery of good customer service through delivery of consistent, well documented, configuration of agreed SharePoint solutions

Responsibilities
  • Ensure any configurations and development work is completed and tested within agreed timescales and delivered to the standard and/or management application agreed with the Line Manager and change manager
  • Help business users to exploit new functionality within the system in a controlled and measured way using the PMO processes
  • Ensure requirements are agreed with the stakeholder community and delivered in line with IS standards and processes
  • Ensure project scopes and requirements do not dilute or deviate from the agreed strategy
  • Support the business application with further information to support client relationships and provide information to resolve issues with Suppliers
  • Ensure consistent application and systems documentation is updated when projects and smaller changes are implemented
  • Actively promote measures to be implemented to improve process documentation
  • Identify and suggest existing or new emerging standards and best practice for the applications team
  • Ensure any costs incurred are for an agreed project or existing budgeted SLA
  • Ensure all technical decisions taken are commercially aware and support business, Innovation and IT strategies
  • Manage your time to deliver activities to agreed timescales for new business, new contracts and mobilisations
  • Ensure you work actively to improve and enhance the business application team service delivery
  • Manage the agreed SharePoint solution to ensure best value for the business and identify potential areas of functionality to exploit
  • Manage your time to deliver to agreed timescales your activity for agreed projects
  • Engage with your line manager and colleagues to ensure quality releases are deployed to live
  • Ensure solutions for the operational teams are delivered to an agreed standard with the business and suppliers
  • Follow all agreed processes for the information management team and the wider business
  • All solutions delivered should be to an agreed standard using agreed industry methodologies
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is produced to agreed standards for the service, all processes and technical information to build and manage the application must be managed in a structured format
  • Ensure all work carried out is either support service within an agreed SLA or Project sanctioned by the PMO

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Essential:
  • 3 years plus experience of managing, supporting and building composite solutions on SharePoint.
  • Working in a challenging and complex organisation and demonstrable experience of delivering business and technical change
  • Ensure you deliver a commercially aware service that is customer focussed
  • Good experience of understanding and writing business requirements, specification writing and delivery of business focussed technical solutions to an agreed and tested standard
  • Experience delivering solutions to an agreed standard using agreed industry methodologies
  • Proven experience working in a small team delivering technical solutions to business requirements
  • Experience of working with internal and external suppliers to ensure specified SLAs are met
  • Ability to deal with and manage conflict whilst building successful business relationships across a range of stakeholder groups
  • Resolution of SharePoint issues and problems through Remedy/Service Desk
  • Strong experience of delivering SharePoint solutions for the business using enterprise content management, document management, SharePoint composites, Nintex workflow and forms, self-service reports, HTML, CSS
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Systems Field or preferably 3 years plus experience designing and/or delivering solutions
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Have or are working toward BCS Solutions Development Foundation

Desirable:
  • A full driving licence
  • Clean driver's license
  • Information systems related Degree
  • Microsoft technology qualifications
  • PRINCE 2 Foundation
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server

  • Experience supporting complex SharePoint and web application solutions across multiple environments

  • Excellent understanding of SharePoint and enterprise content management
  • Good creative thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Willingness to undertake reasonable travel for work

Desirable:
  • Proven ability to build trust with stakeholders
  • Flexible and creative problem solving skills
  • Security cleared or be able to gain SC clearance

Security:

Dependant on the administrative privileges required for this role the job incumbent may have access to controlled technology and or information, such as, but not limited to, ITAR.
