Key Roles & Responsibilities
Provide advice on the application of relevant legal frameworks and case law to managers. Decide on significant cases and support line management in quality assurance in their decision making processes.
Prepare advice including the review of investigation files, and provide additional information, when required.
Making decisions within the Disclosures Bureau including critical reviews of investigation files, intelligence and other records. Seek further information and clarification when required, record disclosure decisions and provide a rationale for why these choices were made.
Become a point of reference and advice to drive decision making and investigative and intelligence procedure to ensure a swift resolution of complex or contentious issues.
Develop a detailed working knowledge of the application of the relevant legal frameworks including Home Office circulars and case law.
Provide professional advice to managers in identifying and implementing improvements in procedure to deliver a better quality of service and performance.
Attend meetings, including giving evidence when requested, and representing managers in periods of absence.
Provide resilience for other related disclosure decision making within any appropriate resilience arrangement.
