The role:
A service engineer is required to repair state of the art unmanned ground vehicles and its sub components to a high standard and in a timely manner at customer sites throughout the UK and overseas.
They will provide technical support and act as a point of contact whilst at customer sites.

Main Tasks:
To repair high specification unmanned ground vehicle components as per instructions keeping within repair times issued demonstrating a customer focused approach.

To build sub-assemblies for spares and sales orders delivering a high standard product.

To update databases and spread-sheets to ensure accurate records are kept.

To visit customer sites around the UK and potentially overseas acting in a support role to ensure customer requirements are met.

To support the delivery team and line report by reporting data, keeping accurate records of incidents and tasks completed.

Work closely with other stake holders within the business to ensure customer parts are returned to suppliers with accurate fault finding records while keeping within set timescales.

Contribute to process and product improvement helping to resolve design issues working closely with the Quality and Engineering departments.

Organisation of daily workload to ensure that have the correct materials, tools, test equipment and work instructions are available and maintained.

Carry out assembly, test, repair and diagnostic tasks to sub assembly, or to component level.

Ensure that time recording with correct job booking codes is accurate and submitted on-time.

Ensure Project deliverables are met, and status provided to PMO – KPI RTRT’s to be met.

Excellent technical knowledge and have a good depth of experience of building and repairing electro mechanical sub-assemblies.

Willingness to travel with potential overnight stays being off site weeks at a time.

Will need to be SC cleared or able to achieve SC clearance.

General computer skills with good knowledge of Microsoft office.

Physically fit as there will be lifting required on a daily basis with the ability to use manual lifting equipment.

UK Driving licence essential.

Dedicated, accurate, efficient, team player.


Experience low volume production assembly of electrical/electronic and mechanical assemblies to defence and security customers.

Strong team player willing to be proactive and achieve high quality work.

Strong delivery focus to meet critical deadlines and milestones.

Time served Technical Apprenticeship or technical qualification to ONC/equivalent.

Good computer skills in MS Office.

Excellent understanding of technical drawings.

Experience of ERP systems.
