Infrastructure Provisioning Manager

Role Profile

To establish and run an end to end Application Hosting Infrastructure provisioning process. The process should enable the existing Infrastructure Provisioning Teams, predominately an existing Managed Service, to effectively and efficiently delivery quality solutions to meet customer requirements, minimizing the management that the customer has to undertake. Some of the functions that the full process should consider are customer engagement, technical assurance, security accreditation, testing and quality control, capacity planning and lifecycle management.

Role and responsibilities

  • Liaise with Project Managers and other customers to determine their requirements for the end-to-end service.
  • To work closely without agile delivery teams to determine how the existing infrastructure and processes can be adapted to meet their needs.
  • To consult with all the teams needed for the provisioning of infrastructure and other key stakeholders and perform a gap analysis to determine what improvements are needed to meet the customer requirements.
  • To develop, document and launch an end-to-end process (or processes) that use the existing services and toolsets to meet the customer requirements.
  • To identify resource and/or tools needed to sustain the end-to-end process.
  • To run the new process until the resources identified above are in place.
  • To consult with customers and stakeholders to gain feedback on the new process and adjust where necessary.
  • To put in place delivery measures to quantify the success of the new process and inform senior management of performance against workloads.

Skills and Experience

  • An understanding of Application Hosting Infrastructure.
  • Experience of dealing with a Managed Service Provider for the provision and support of services.
  • Experience of implementing ITIL processes.
  • Experience of implementing a bi-modal delivery service to enable both traditional waterfall and agile approaches to project delivery.
