Description of Role
* Maintain operational performance in order to meet agreed Service Levels
* Provide a Technical Assurance governance gate in which Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) of application/infrastructure deliveries are undertaken prior to live implementation.
* Provide Technical Assurance around the support aspects of a solution. Ensuring that all documentation is accurate and provides the right level of detail and to enable the solution to be implemented and supported effectively, prior to live release.
* Ability to interact and converse with engineering and architecture teams around current and future solutions to provide where possible seamless transition of changes through the release cycle.
* Act as escalation points for Senior Management and Operation Support teams.
* Incident & Problem escalations.
* SME contact for support groups.

Role specific Technical Skill Sets Required
* App-V 4.6 or 5.x
* AppSense DesktopNow
* HPCA
* SCCM or SMS 2003
* Citrix XenApp 6.5 / XenDesktop / Citrix Provisioning Services
* VMWare / XenServer / Hyper-V Technology awareness
* General Windows OS Knowledge both Desktop and Server (XP/W2k3/W7/W2k8)
* Active Directory / DNS / DHCP / GPO's
* Exchange 2010 & Lync knowledge or exposure.
* General Network understanding

Desired Areas of Work Experience
* Min 2nd line support in a large desktop environment with exposure of SME related duties.
* Exposure/Knowledge of Discovery & Packaging areas.
* Exposure/Knowledge of test environments and product life cycle.
* Exposure/Knowledge of working closely with Architecture and Engineering groups as part of moving solutions into a production environment.
* Familiarity with ITIL based enterprise environments
* Common sense approach.

Essential Knowledge and Skills Required:
* Citrix Xenapp 5 and Citrix Xenapp 6.5 configuration and end user support.
* AppSense DesktopNow
* Software delivery technologies (SMS/SCCM/HPCA)
* Active Directory / DNS / DHCP / GPO's
* General Networking understanding from a Desktop 2nd line support perspective
* General Windows OS Knowledge both Desktop and Server (XP/W2k3/W7/W2k8)
* Understanding of technology in direct responsibility
* General understanding of related technologies
* Customer Service
* Candidates should possess Disclosure Scotland/current BPSS clearance or be willing to undertake appropriate security vetting to achieve
* Candidates should be UK national, no dual nationals should apply
