AWE has a programme of work to ensure that our facilities, plant and equipment meet our business requirements. The programme entails the modernisation and refurbishment of a range of facilities and you will be responsible for delivering project engineering work packages to meet programme requirements.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the design intent is maintained throughout the project lifecycle and play a key role in ensuring that AWE's role as Intelligent Customer is delivered. You will ensure that safety hazards and environmental aspects of designs are adequately addressed and meet AWE's obligations as a Nuclear Site Licence holder. The role requires good communication and leadership skills to ensure that user requirements are clearly defined and the proposed solutions are acceptable to user groups and other stakeholders.
You could be working in a number of project areas:
- utility services and infrastructure
- process/production plant and equipment
- building services
You will be experienced in working in a formal project delivery environment and have knowledge of one or more of the following:
- Mechanical or electrical building services
- Production/process plant and equipment
- Utility services (Electricity, gas, steam)
- Civil/structural engineering
- Electrical control and instrumentation
You will have a proven ability to lead teams and work effectively with external suppliers within industry standard frameworks such as NEC3 forms of contract.
You will have a working knowledge of CDM regulations and an understanding of how hazards are identified and addressed through design.
Ideally you will have Chartered Engineer status or be working towards full membership of a relevant professional engineering institution.
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
