My Client who are based in Southampton are looking for HR Support for a period of 15 months.

Job Purpose: To provide proactive, professional and business focussed HR support to a business area to ensure maximum operational performance from the business. To have active involvement in local site and UK HR project work.


Skills, qualifications & knowledge

The ideal candidate will have a solid HR generalist background, with particular experience in dealing with varied employee relations issues. Experience of working within the defence/aerospace industry, engineering and/or manufacturing environment is preferable but not essential.

Personal skills (essential):
Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels
Good organisational, time management and planning skills, with the ability to work to a demanding schedule.
Must be a good team player with a pro-active attitude and flexible approach

Technical skills (essential):
Strong employee relations skills, with demonstrable experience of dealing with complex cases
Up to date knowledge of employment legislation
Knowledge of current HR best practice
Change management
Coaching & influencing

Education:
CIPD qualified or equivalent level of experience


Key responsibility areas:
*Act as part of customer group's management team and work with them to identify the people priorities to deliver high performance
*Lead or manage as necessary, the provision of appropriate resourcing, reward and L&D practices to customer group
*Lead and facilitate appropriate talent management practices across customer group; including effective succession planning and single point failure mitigation
*Support, guide and coach line managers to ensure maintenance of good employment relations; including supporting disciplinaries & grievances
*Act as part of site and UK HR & L&D team to ensure consistency of approach across all areas * Interface with shared HR services to ensure service meets customer expectation
*Support the HR site lead in the implementation of the HR strategy and provide appropriate functional support for activities such as salary review, performance appraisals and performance management
