Implementation Project Manager

 

LOCATION: Brussels, Belgium

CLIENT: NATO

DURATION: 4 months with possible extensions

CONTRACT: Consultant

SALARY: Negotiable daily rate

WORK HOURS: Monday to Friday, normal working hours

CLEARANCE: NATO SECRET

TASKS

  • Coordinate project technical activities to ensure reaching the strategic objectives of the ITM project
  • Maintain project plan, budget, resource pools, standing project introduction materials,
  • Maintain project management repositories (documents, configuration, changes)
  • Provide periodic reporting (internal and external) and prepare ad-hoc reports and assessments
  • Assure timely delivery and high quality of deliverables,
  • Maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders,
  • Inspect work conducted by the ITM-M Contractors
  • Provide technical advice as needed to the ITM-M Contractors
  • Deputize for the ITM-M Project Manager
  • Performs other duties as may be required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A university degree in Computer Sciences, or related discipline, equivalent to a Master’s and supplemented by relevant postgraduate qualifications. The lack of a Master’s degree may exceptionally be compensated by the demonstration of particular abilities or experience of interest to the Agency
  • 5 years of experience as a project manager in major CIS projects
  • Experience in applying multi-discipline engineering and management techniques in the acquisition of complex communication and information systems
  • Experience in managing, planning, design, system engineering and implementation of military or other communication and information systems
  • Knowledge and experience in state-of-the-art technologies, relevant to the work, including information processing and transfer of information
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills
  • A formal qualification in management and management techniques (PRINCE2)
  • High proficiency in planning, simulating, progress tracking and reporting using MS Project/EPM 2010/2013
  • High proficiency in using MS Office 2013/2016 and SharePoint 2013 tools
  • Proactive attitude in seeking and maintaining trust from stakeholders
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills
  • Able to work productively in a pressure environment

DESIRABLES:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a project team leader
  • Experience in application and data migration to virtualised environment
  • Knowledge of international, commercial/industrial standards for information processing and transfer of information;
  • Conversant with NATO policy and procurement procedures;
  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT.
