Are you an experienced Technical Author with some team leadership experience? Our client is a leading provider of technical and documentation services to blue chip clients throughout the UK and Europe.

They have a strong track record in producing technical documentation for the MOD and currently have several major projects on the go. They are currently looking to recruit a Technical Publications Team Leader to join their growing Documentation department.

This position would suit an ambitious and experienced Technical Author who wants to take the next step in their career.

As a deputy you will be involved in all aspects of the running of a small business, in support of the Department Manager.
Responsibilities include:
*Technical Authoring, Assisting in the compilation of quotations
*Project management of Technical Publication Projects to meet budget and delivery timescales
*Quality, Line management and supervision of a small team, Reporting, Customer Liaison

Essential requirements:
*Proven experience as a Technical Author within Defence or Aerospace sectors
*Project Management experience
*Management experience
*The ability to produce concise and accurate manuals from a variety of source information, predominantly engineering drawings, CAD data and system specifications
*Experience of producing publications to JSP (D) 543, AESP 0100 and ASD S1000D
*Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and ensure that the deliverables are available within the designated time frame and to the necessary quality level.

This is a permanent role based in Cheltenham. Travel to customer premises throughout the UK will be required to support meeting, collect data and witness demonstrations. Extended periods of offsite work may be required from time-to-time.

Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to sole British Citizens. Applicants who meet this criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level
