UX Writer, City of Westminster, London- 3 Month Contract

My client is one of the largest private (Employee Owned) companies in the UK and has been in business for around 150 years. They work across multiple sectors and are currently looking to take on a UX Writer to join their well-established company.

The key skills my client are looking for in the UX Writer include:

  • Skilled in narrative structure, language, nuance and persuasion
  • Write amazing copy across all user touch-points
  • Integrate fully with design, development teams from the project's outset
  • Adopt agile, lean and hcd processes, work-flows and delivery goals
  • Partner in user or audience research
  • Speak the language of designers and developers
  • Use the same collaborative tools (or at least, compatible ones) as designers and developers (Google Docs, Axure, Sketch, Jira)
  • Work with a cross functional team to find verbal and visual narrative design solutions
  • Collaborate across the wider Customer directorate (product, copy and editorial, content and design) to improve copywriting and communication
  • Aware of Content strategy frameworks to ensure the effectiveness, appropriateness and proper governance of language
  • Teach and empower others to write amazing copy

The key responsibilities for the UX Writer include:

Experience designing a friendly and conversational UI. As well as the usual headers and body copy you'll master all sorts of hidden text and microcopy:

  • Contextual help and tooltips
  • Error messaging
  • In-line validation
  • Interstitial screen content
  • Metadata
  • Form fields
  • Legal notices
  • UI animations
  • Ensuring quality, accuracy, consistency and proper governance
