IT Security Engineer (Windows, SIEM, DLP)

The top tier financial services organisation who take security more seriously than any other commercial sector organisation in the UK have vacancies in their Security Engineering team. With over 10% of the firms employees permanently employed in their IT Security capability, there can be no doubt that they take security serious for the sake of security rather than for compliance.

In fact, there are no external governing bodies that influence how security is done at this company so the policies and risk frameworks are set by the team themselves. With a very large budget for implementing the latest and greatest in security technology, this team are constantly evaluating the value of new products and are frequently updating their systems.

Because of the extremely high value of the data that the team are securing, one serious breach could shut this high profit organisation down overnight. As such, there can be no chances taken with security and they only hire the best problem solvers who are not married to any particular tech but rather revel in new challenges and enjoy thinking way outside the box.

The IT Security Engineer (Windows, SIEM, DLP) role:

  • Researching, implementing and managing cutting edge enterprise systems security solutions
  • Work closely with operations involving responding to alerts/events
  • Come up with ideas that will be run with to keep the company secure
  • Review engineering standards and work closely with the in-house SOC and Engineering teams
  • Show deep understanding of system security and encourage the IT Security culture

  • Have extensive knowledge and experience of complex, dynamic Windows environments, Active Directory, Windows Server and scripting skills (Perl/PowerShell/SQL).
  • Have experience of managing enterprise security products such as Antivirus, Data Leakage Prevention tools, Endpoint Protection, Identity Management, SIEM etc.
  • Have a strong technical foundation and a degree in Computer Science, Security, Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Have demonstrable experience working in a systems infrastructure, security operations or IT support role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
