Job Summary:
Responsible for design and development of circuit boards and sub-systems for a range of electronic products.
Responsible for detailed circuit design including embedded microcontrollers, FPGA, RF signal synthesis and power supplies.

Principal Duties
* Specification and design of systems and complex printed circuit boards to meet form fit and function targets.
* Detailed analogue/digital electronics circuit design.
* Circuit schematic, layout and manufacturing data pack generation using Altium Designer.
* To carry out feasibility investigations to assess viability of new/alternative approaches
* To propose and carry out design verification and validation activities
* To ensure that manufacturing technical data packages are generated in accordance with the defined requirements
* To implement revision controls on electronic design data
* To manage the configuration of key items/documents and their life cycles by means of engineering changes, concessions, etc in conjunction with corporate configuration management resources
* To ensure that electronic design/development activities adhere to ISO9001.
* To contribute to strategic product life cycle road maps and feature / product enhancements

Technical Skills/Experience
* Electronic circuit/product design and development for commercial/industrial applications
* Schematic capture and PCB design/layout for complex multilayer PCBs
* Design for medium volume manufacture
* Signal integrity, PCB stack-up, impedance control.
* Hardware debugging, using oscilloscopes and other test equipment.
* Design verification/validation
* Switched mode power supplies
* Phase-locked Loops
* Filter design
* High speed DAC's and ADC's
* Thermal management of PCB-mounted devices and of sub-systems within overall equipment.
* Use of spectrum analysers
