Head of Security & Resilience
Making a difference you’re used to. Making this much impact you’re not.
Here at the NDA, we’re pressing forward with the safe and efficient clean-up of the UK’s nuclear legacy. Security is an issue that’s more important than ever – which is why your role as Head of Security & Resilience will have a critical impact. Join us, and you’ll do all you can to ensure the NDA and its sites are well protected, applying innovation to achieve NDA’s goals and objectives.
The NDA spends hundreds of millions of pounds on securing sites and facilities. You’ll lead the oversight of these programmes, assuring we meet our legal obligations and expectations across the entire UK-wide estate. You’ll be the lead reviewer, assessor and reporter on security performance, and a high-level advisor too. You’ll support our own subject matter experts and work with our supply chain to improve their security standards. There’ll also be extensive liaison with the Civil Nuclear Constabulary as well as regulators to exploit the opportunities and assist in the transition to outcome based regulation.
We need you to keep both our people and facilities safe. We’ll expect you to champion best practice and see that our security, resilience and contingency planning obligations are fulfilled. To succeed, you’ll need to work with a range of colleagues including the Chief Information Security Officer. Together, you’ll co-ordinate activities so they offer effective protection. Innovative thinking is welcomed – this is a great time to introduce new technology.
Ideally, you’ve led the security function at a nuclear site or within a hazardous industry. You certainly have a robust understanding of security in our industry and experience of security-related investigations. With this background, you’ll have the gravitas to represent the NDA and grow our Security capability. You’ll operate at the highest levels, influencing regulators, suppliers, industry and government figures. Experience in managing the Government security classifications would definitely be helpful.
Degree-educated in a relevant technical subject, you’ll be a first class leader with the resilience to deal with pressure. You’ll also be a British national with DV clearance (or willing to undertake DV screening).
If you’d like to join our high-performing team in beautiful Cumbria, we offer relocation support.
Be you, by our standards.
