Our Project Managers need to combine a blend of technical, management and leadership skills to play a pivotal role in the team-based delivery of technically focussed work including system development and integration projects.


Applied Intelligence develops a diverse range of solutions and we are able to offer our Project Managers a wide variety of work with other highly-skilled Applied Intelligence consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be accountable for the delivery of a project or programme with responsibilities including:


•Management of client engagements and business development opportunities
•Full ownership for the delivery in bid phase or contract execution including ownership of work breakdown structure, production of estimates, project plans, engineering plans, finances, risk & contingency, scope management and change control
•Production of estimates and project plans
•Successful delivery of the project to time, quality and cost.
•Drive improvements in cost to serve. Take appropriate cost reduction measures such as early mitigation of risk to reduce overall cost of delivery and spend of contingency
•Preparation of work orders and project documentation (PID/PMP, status reports, change control notes and other key documentation)
•Selection and application of project delivery methods/lifecycle and engineering processes
•Identification and active management of technical risks and issues with an impact on delivery and finances
•Work closely with and drive delivery of your team, particularly working closely with project technical architects and development teams
•Day to day project/delivery management of technical delivery teams including task assignment and review Recruitment, selection, allocation and performance management of your team members
•Support new business development and contribute appropriately to proposals and/or propositions Management of scope and requests for change.

Mandatory Skills & Experience:


•Bespoke software development experience
•Client facing experience
•P&L ownership £1-3M
•Stable career background
•Clearly showing appetite for success and career progression
•Prince 2, APM or similar project management qualification.
•Experience of Agile and Waterfall methods
•Excellent understanding of estimation and will be able to provide reasoned estimates of both timescales and costs involved in development and system integration projects drawing on a number of complementary techniques including top-down and bottom-up approaches
•Have an excellent understanding of the impact of change on delivery plans and are able to manage change control tightly and guide the client in selecting whether to implement changes in current workstream or suggest future development phases
•Be able to manage and control all project risks and issues, escalating risks/issues with suggested solutions as appropriate and controlling resources and spend within the project budget and timeline
•Have experience in the management of sub-contractors delivering services and in the negotiation of contracts with these parties on behalf of the client or your own team

Other Desirable Skills & Experience:


•Experience working in a consultancy or large Systems Integrator
•Experience of User Centric Design
•Technologies to have experience in include: J2EE, .NET, EAI, Data warehousing and ETL, Content and Document Management, RDBMS (Oracle, SQLServer), Front End Development HTML/CSS, Reporting and Analytics and information security technologies
•Capable of acting as Engineering Lead or Technical Architect on projects where a Technical Architect is not assigned or should have some experience as an architect in one or more of the key technology areas commonly encountered in Applied Intelligence’s engagements
•Have experience in the management of sub-contractors delivering services and in the negotiation of contracts with these parties on behalf of the client or your own team
