Role Profile, Key Tasks and Deliverables

This task is critical to delivery of vital milestones in both the Airborne Collision Avoidance System (ACAS) and the Delivery of the Wire and Obstacle Awareness System (WOAS).

Both of these projects are essential safety modifications which aim to reduce the Risk to Life of mid-air collision and wire/obstacle strike respectively.

ACAS is in a critical phase as it approaches Full Release to Service (RTS) milestones for each Mark of Chinook aircraft. The Mk4 and Mk6 aims to achieve Full RTS by March 1st 217, with Mk5 following shortly afterwards and Mk6a being targeted for July 217. In addition to this the project aims to achieve Initial Operating Capability (IOC) in April 217.

In order to successfully complete the clearances process and to achieve the desired maturity at IOC, each Mk of aircraft must achieve DLOD maturity including the Logistics/Support DLOD. Due to recent staff turn-over ACAS no longer has a dedicated Support/Logistics desk officer.

This task is to manage all Support/Logistics activities within the ACAS project (including Initial Provisioning and Transition activities), ensuring the desired maturity for each of the milestones listed above.

WOAS has faced some programmatic challenges and as a result the day to day workload of this project has increased significantly. In addition activities need to be put in place to organise further flight test (and gain the necessary clearances to do so) for this project.

Hence this task also includes responsibility to support the management of the WOAS Project including clearance activities leading up to Flight test and then the subsequent Full RTS
