Candidate Support Manager - a fixed term contract until December 2017

About the role

As a Candidate Support Manager you will support candidates through their personal recruitment journey into the Army. Following training, you will have a broad understanding of the Army careers within their area of specialisation, and crucially what it takes to become a professional soldier. You will use this knowledge to nurture, advise and motivate candidates through the recruitment process.

Each candidate's journey will be unique and therefore there is an emphasis on developing a strong relationship with each candidate and their respective gatekeepers to build an excellent understanding of their individual circumstances and motivations, with the objective of providing the right support through each phase of the recruitment process. This will require you to interact with purpose, providing critical and timely information, addressing hurdles as they occur, having open, honest and direct conversations and guiding the candidate through the process.

The role is based in the National Recruiting Centre (NRC) working as part of a team, of civilian and military personnel, dedicated to providing a world class and bespoke service for every candidate. You will be a clear and friendly communicator, with a strong background in Customer Service and Administration.

What you will do:

  • Owns individual relationships with applicants where possible, within remit and supports and nurtures candidates through their recruitment journey

  • Assesses suitability of candidate and books interviews and coordinates the booking requests for Outreach events, Assessment events, and Specialist interviews where appropriate.

  • Understands current army recruitment priorities and schedules applicant's in line with these priorities and give an excellent impression of the Army and the RPP.

  • Updates candidate record accurately and timely.

  • Ensure candidate is progressed in line with RPP policy.

  • Liaise with all stakeholders within the Recruiting Group community (Selection Centre's, Army Careers Centre's etc).

Your experience will include:

  • A background in Customer Service and Administration
  • MS Office competent - especially Word and Excel
  • Experience in a role whereby you have built strong customer/client relationships
  • Proven ability to influence others
  • Familiarity with the Army possibly derived from a military background or family links desirable
  • Clear communicator, confident on the telephone and email
  • Organised and a Team player
  • Recruitment background desirable
