My client is one of the largest and most innovative companies in the world when it comes to communication and networks infrastructure; an industry leader of mobile satellite communications to keep people connected at all times anywhere - anytime.

Currently in the process of launching a state of the art brand new satellite (costing over £2Billion) that will shake and shape the current fleet of satellites in operation, pushing the limits of speed and scope


I am looking for an API (Application Program Interfaces) Product Manager that will have the opportunity to work across a diverse set of networks and telecommunications technologies, being responsible for managing and moving forward a suite of development resources that will provide developers with information and tools that they need to successfully develop their products and deliver to different markets.

The API product Manager will work with some of the most skilled A in the country when it comes to IT, networks and satellite platforms. This job includes:


Responsibilities

Subject matter expert and product expert for API or other products that are managed.
Management of client API integrations and pipeline.
Deep understanding of client needs and market trends, through client interaction and other market research

Reaching out to the devs community to help create innovative products and services to different partners and key customers.
Identifying commercial opportunities for monetising the companies API's .
Owning and creating the business/product requirements documentation.
Ownership of API documentation (ie developer's site).
Working closely with a publishing team and helping them with different technical specifications , instructional documentation as well as projects and code samples to help developers and partners
Ownership of Companies developer portal ensuring the portal is fully operation and secure
Leading the companies developer conference


To be a good fit for the API product manager, you will need to quickly develop a good ability to communicate to a large group of skate holders with variety knowledge of API's at various roles in the company such as marketing, product management, engineering, developers, etc. Also have a high level of drive with an outgoing personality and be confident in representing the company API's at international conferences and exhibitions alongside other recognised experts.

Essential Requirements /Skills.

Degree level education (Computer Science / Engineering proffered)
5 years' work experience of working with API's
Experience in monetising API's
Proven Experience of Leadership of developer programs and communities.
Proven experience of knowledge of API usage and industry best practice.
Competitive Knowledge of Swagger API framework, mobile and mobile software development.
Accustomed to working in cross-functional teams in an international environment and generating action.
