Portfolio Manager - West London - PERMANENT

Our client, within the public sector, are seeking a Portfolio Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.

PORTFOLIO MANAGER ROLE PURPOSE:

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the effective management and successful delivery of a portfolio of strategic changes.

Leadership of the Portfolio Management service, ensuring agreed service plans and performance targets are delivered and that a culture of putting our residents first and continuous service improvement is maintained.

PORTFOLIO MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To be responsible for the selection, development and performance of the Business Design service in line with HR policies.
  • To lead teams effectively involving supporting people and their professional development.
  • Understands the service areas and residents and uses this insight and to drive innovation, value and leading services to residents.
  • To manage the successful delivery of a portfolio of strategic changes to support specific business strategies and objectives
  • To lead the implementation of an investment appraisal and decision making process based on a clear understanding of cost, risk, interdependencies, business benefit and impact on existing business.
  • To regularly review the portfolio of programmes, projects and standing support services to drive efficiencies and continued performance improvement.
  • To use strategic thinking to ensure that the change portfolio and services align.
  • To engage and influence senior managers to ensure the portfolio will deliver the agreed business objectives.
  • To direct and govern the appraisal, planning, scheduling, investment and management of all IT change programmes, projects and initiatives.
  • To ensure that the programme and project leads and service owners adhere to the agreed portfolio management approach and timetable.
  • To take responsibility for the effective management of the allocated budget for the service.
  • Implement continuous monitoring of team and individual performance and productivity to ensure the delivery of any Service Level Agreements (SLA's) are maximised.
