Reporting to the Lead Business Analyst and relevant Project Manager(s), the post holder will manage multiple BA work streams across a number of projects within a Programme.


Candidate will have a strong business analysis background and ideally experience of working in a consultancy environment. Typical tasks include requirements management, process definition, impact analysis, communications, business case and benefit management and change management. The candidate is expected to be competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word.


Individual must have previous experience of working as a Business Analyst and can demonstrate experience in the following activities:


  • Collecting, understanding, and transmitting the business requirements for projects, and translating these into functional specifications ensuring requirements are clearly understood and met where appropriate
  • Ability to produce requirements and acceptance criteria unambiguous and understandable as single statements
  • Producing consistent, high quality deliverables with a clearly articulated set of aims, values and meaningful context
  • Analysing and documenting business processes
  • Document workflows and present results of business analysis, obtaining sign-off from client on the specifications
  • Work with Project Engineers to design system test plans and manage customer acceptance testing to ensure alignment to business requirements
  • Providing the link between the business, development team and any third party regarding software functionality, throughout the development lifecycle
  • Producing weekly reports for the Project Managers showing progress against outstanding milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies.
  • Support continuous improvement through feeding back on the existing processes, and proactively proposing process and template improvements.


What we are looking for:

Highly desirable:

  • Experience of gathering and documenting business requirements for technical projects, including leading workshops for requirements and business process capture
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a structured IT Project environment
  • Demonstrable evidence of analysing and documenting complex business processes
  • Highly process aware, with evidence of actively contributing to continuous improvement of project processes
  • A proven track record in BA work within IT projects
  • End to end experience of the project lifecycle
  • Experience of delivering work streams across multiple simultaneous projects
  • Proven experience interacting directly with end users and technical project teams
  • Strong skills in core Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), especially Microsoft Project and Visio
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, able to produce concise and accurate summary reporting, as well as communicating effectively and clearly with internal and external stakeholders



  • Understanding of IT architecture concepts, and comfortable working with the technical architect community
  • Experience of gathering and documenting business requirements for technical projects, including leading workshops for requirements and business process capture
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self motivated and motivates others keeping morale and performance high
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure to meet deadlines and manage business expectations
  • Excellent negotiation skills with stakeholders, vendors and suppliers
