Job Title:  Procurement / Stores Administrator

Location:  Portsmouth

Salary:  £19K to £21K

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in the Stores and Procurement side on a large IT client site. This varied role covers the receipt and dispatch of IT goods through the IS Site stores but also assists and supports the IS procurement function and mobile telephony.  You would be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of a procurement function and for the efficient storage and control of all IT equipment, peripherals & consumables on-site. You will source; demand, receipt and correctly asset identify all stock using the Service Management System and ensure the delivery of all items purchased.  This role carries a range of defined core administrative, operational and technical activities.  It is essential that you are SC Cleared or eligible for this exciting opportunity.

Role Responsibilities: The Stores Technician is responsible for the efficient storage of all IT equipment, peripherals & consumables on-site.  Primary functions are to demand, receipt and correctly asset identify all stock using the Service Management system provided plus the effective and timely delivery of all items purchased.

Duties and tasks of the role may include:

  • IT Equipment and consumables ordering via the procurement channel
  • Receipting all goods onto the Service Management system
  • Delivering or arranging delivery of items ordered by users on-site
  • Inventory control of stock and availability management of spares to meet the demand levels
  • Asset and configuration management to ensure the accuracy of the records within the database
  • Efficient disposal of equipment including data cleansing and also liaising with the approved waste company
  • Maintain records of stock movements and producing monthly stock reports
  • Liaising with outside agencies for warranty repairs or replacement of faulty equipment
  • Support of the IS Procurement Team in its associated processes and procedures Asset and configuration management to ensure the accuracy of the records within the database

 Essential Experience:

  • Excellent organisational skills, accurate & methodical
  • Good communication and customer facing skills
  • Good computer literacy
  • Good Manual Handling capability
  • Full driving license required
  •

  • Previous knowledge of stores environment an advantage
  • Health & Safety awareness
