About Capita PCSE - Primary Care Support England

Primary Care Support England (PCSE) provides support services to GP Practices, Pharmacies, Dentists and Opticians. Our priority is to continue delivering the services you receive today, but we will also introduce new arrangements to help us create national, consistent services for all our users.

Primary Care Support England provides administrative and support services for primary care on behalf of NHS England and is part of Capita plc.


Business Analyst will serve as the liaison between the customer community and the technical development team. This person will be responsible for eliciting, analysing, validating, specifying, verifying, and managing the business needs of the project stakeholders, including customers and end users. The successful candidate will work closely with business units, subject matter experts and technical resources to identify business needs, define projects, develop requirements and manage the development effort to completion.


  • Ability to define project objectives, scope, timelines, responsibilities and communication methods.

  • Ability to apply knowledge and experience and incorporate and in-depth understanding of business implications to define plans and identify solutions that address highly complex business problems.

  • Acquiring understanding of a problem or situation by breaking it down systematically into its component parts and identifying the relationships between these parts.

  • Use established methodologies to work with staff to investigate and quantify project impacts and to identify cross project and cross-functional dependencies and then plan accordingly.

  • Undertake analysis and estimate impact project will have on business, employees and customers and recommend the most equitable solution

  • Balance timeliness, cost effectiveness and quality in proposing solutions; to improve customer service, efficiency, revenue and productivity and to provide information.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommends possible solutions.

  • Identifies opportunities to influence change of dept. strategy, in terms of methodology, techniques and tools deployed.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a workstream or project team that may have significant corporate impact.

  • Involved in the training and coaching of new and existing techniques to peer group and assists others in achieving objectives and personal development plans.

    Essential Experience/Skills:

  • Previous Business Analyst experience

  • Able to produce Use cases / Entity diagrams

  • Strong customer facing skills. Must be comfortable and confident with clients at all levels.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.

  • Strong organisational, time management and leadership skills.

  • The ability to work co-operatively and supportively with others, able to lead and motivate teams working on projects.

  • Uses initiative, takes ownership of projects and problems. Must be prepared to travel to client sites sometimes at short notice.


  • System Analyst experience

  • ISEB BA Accreditation

  • Qualification in PRINCE2 to Foundation level
