We are currently recruiting an Air Conditioning Engineer to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Repairs to Split Air Conditioning Units, Variable Refrigerant Volume Systems, Chillers, Air Handling Units and other Mechanical associated plants within various buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out in line with task schedules, frequencies and industry best practices
  • Produce clear and concise written reports and time sheets in a timely manner
  • Identify any defects found to the Technical Supervisor or Delivery Manager and provide parts list and estimated timescales to complete the defects
  • Attend site and carry out reactive tasks and emergency call outs as instructed by the helpdesk team
  • Ensure refrigerants are transported and handled in accordance with current Health & Safety Regulations
  • Complete refrigeration usage sheets for all gas used
  • Maintain the professional image of Interserve Facilities Services at all times
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all Interserve Facilities Services employees and clients’ representatives
  • Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment
  • Adhere to company policies on all Health & Safety and Environmental Health guidelines
  • Adhere to company policies, on standards, codes of conduct, COSSH, and current government legislation. (Engineers are updated on a regular basis)
  • Communicate regularly with all Supervisory and Management staff and specialist subcontractors to ensure Interserve Service provision is achieved at all times
  • Accountable to the Operations Supervisor/ Delivery Manager
  •  Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in    

What we are looking for

  • Have a good background in and formally trained in AC and Refrigeration Maintenance
  • Have a good basic education, with good written and spoken English and basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • Be a team player with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Have a sound understanding of current company and legislative Health and Safety, Environmental Impacts and Risk Assessment procedures
  • Be able to provide both summarised and detailed reports, on current operations department activities when requested to do so
  • Hold a City Guilds 2079 in Refrigerant Handling
  • Working to Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance regimes
  • Experience of maintaining Split AC units
  • Experience of Centrifugal Chillers
  • Experience of large chillier units
  • Experience of maintaining Variable Refrigeration Volume systems
  • Knowledge of electrical services and fault finding on Control circuits
  • Knowledge of lone working requirements
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service
  • Must be assessed and added to Skilled Persons Register for working on MOD installations
  • May be require to join a call out rota
  • Experience of General Building Management Systems
  • Risk Assessment and Method Statement trained
  • Electrical qualification
  • Able to work outside discipline
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence
