An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a successful £100m service delivery organisation as a Major Incident Manager, based at client site in Aldermaston, West Berkshire.

The Major Incident Manager is responsible for driving activities related to the Major Incident Management process. The Major Incident Manager is a focal point to lead, facilitate, coordinate and drive technical support resources during a major service outage. The aim is to achieve the resolution as quickly as possible and minimize impact to users

The Major Incident Manager will take on the following key responsibilities:

  • Monitor key business services, application and infrastructure across a varied toolset, identifying trends and events for escalation
  • Lead, facilitate and coordinate activity during Major Incidents
  • Ensure that Incident records are fully documented both during and after the Incident, including gathering and recording the full incident timeline of events
  • Run 'post incident review meetings'
  • Support the Problem Management and End-to-end Incident Management functions
  • Build an open and effective working relationship with the Service Desk and Resolver Teams

Essential Skills:

  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Familiar with Service Desk support methodology and tooling
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal
  • Strong customer services skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to take a methodical approach
  • Basic data analysis
  • Current DV clearance and happy to work on a nuclear licensed site

Desirable Skills:

  • Event Management experience
  • Major Incident Management experience
  • Experience of matrix management
