The Northrop Grumman team at Fareham, responsible for a suite of Command and Control software applications that are in use operationally in countries throughout the world, are looking for an engineer to lead the test function whilst maintaining significant hands on testing particularly in Test Automation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, oversight and leadership to a small to medium sized team of test engineers working within a matrix organisation
  • Take responsibility for the estimation of test and acceptance activities
  • Understand the testing requirements of a project and design appropriate test strategies and test activities
  • Take responsibility for the estimation of test and acceptance activities

  • Continue the drive of the test department to automated testing
  • Act as the authority on automated testing
  • Take responsibility for the pursuit of best practice for software testing across the company
  • Act as the Test and Acceptance Manager/ITEA Manager for a project producing and enforcing Test and Acceptance Management/ITEA plans and procedures

Person Specification
Essential criteria:

 

  • Engineering based Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
  • Experience as a tester in both manual testing and test automation
  • Automation Skills/Tools:

o Selenium Webdriver and Java
o Eclipse, Visual Studio and/or IntelliJ
o JMeter (Web Service Testing)
o Performance Testing using JMeter and HP LoadRunner
o UFT/QTP
o Page Object Model/Page Factory Automation Framework
o SOAPUI for Mocking Services

 

 

  • Unit Testing Experience (JMS)
  • JIRA
  • Agile and Kanban Methodologies
  • Zephyr (including Importing Tool) or QC experience

  • ISTQB Advanced Test Manager Certification or equivalent
