Purpose of Position

In order to deliver the TP programme GDMS are adoption an Agile Methodology in the form of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®). This role will operate within SAFe to deliver System Engineering tasks to develop and define the EvO Solution and to specify the interfaces and configuration items that constitute the solution.

The successful candidate will be allocated into a small team which will take responsibility for addressing specific Platform Installation designs including addressing:

• Platform Fits
• Bill of Materials
• Cable Specifications
• Mechanical Installation

Responsibilities

Working within a Multi-Disciplined engineering team, following an agile development methodology to deliver the System Engineering aspects of the programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Platform Fits from a high level requirement for numbers of personnel, radio requirement and user roles, captured in terms of PSDs and BOMs
• Equipment Installation concepts and Guidelines, including:
o Suitability of equipment and VIKs to operate in Military Vehicle Environments (Shock & Vib, Temp humidity, EMC etc)
o Size, Weight and Power analysis
o Analysis of legacy cable designs to support new electrical interface standards adopted by the new equipment designs
o Reuse of legacy IKEE and AKEE
• Cable specification for analogue, Ethernet and power

Plus engaging with the Multi-Disciplines team to ensure that speciality inputs are considered and necessary SE outputs meet these discipline requirements:

Education/Experience

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience 
• Considerable experience of product or system design 
• Relevant Professional qualifications, for example 
o Registered Project Professional
o Chartered Engineer
