As S3 continues to grow, we are strengthening our sales and technical teams and have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and bright individual to be part of our Presales Team. The Presales team is responsible for supporting the S3 Sales Account Managers, providing technical sales support and designing technical solutions to new & existing customers. Emphasis is on converged infrastructure platforms, compute, virtualisation, storage, storage networking, management, orchestration, and data protection solutions.

The successful applicant will have the responsibility for actively driving the pre sales process in Scotland and must be able to articulate our vendor and product portfolio, positioning to both business and technical users. The Presales Consultant will articulate solutions to customers via good written, verbal and presentation skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced industry professional to join and add value to a friendly team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany Sales Account Managers on visits to customers to determine technical and business requirements and ensuring that all necessary information is collated prior to producing a solution.

  • Complex solution design, working with technologies from a multitude of vendor partners.

  • Assisting in the development of formal sales proposals.

  • Provide technical responses to Tenders, RFI's/RFP's/RPQ's and Mini-Competitions etc.

  • Provide technical solutions in a professional manner and to agreed timeframes.

  • Create and confidently deliver presentations both internally and externally.

  • Build enduring relationships with colleagues, customers and partners, fostering teamwork.

  • Provide accurate and timely management information, to include activity reports and bid reviews.

  • Use or remote presentation tools such as GoToMeeting and WebEx to deliver presentations and demos.

  • Interface with the Implementation and Project Team, articulating customer requirements and solution design to ensure smooth transition from sale to delivery.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with leading compute and storage technologies from vendors such as Cisco, EMC, VCE, NetApp, VMware, Veritas, CommVault and Microsoft, advantageous but not essential.

  • Experience with managed or cloud backup services advantageous but not essential.

  • Good overall knowledge of data storage and related technologies.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel through Scotland and on occasion, throughout UK.
