Summary of Role:
A desirable role for an experienced Test Engineer with a background in ISR platforms to work with the existing Sentinel Mission System Group at both the system and software levels. The role will include tasks ranging from installation and integration of new software and hardware on the Mission Systems facility to writing test procedures, participating in Test Procedure reviews and executing formal testing.
 
As a DAOS approved organization the Airborne Mission Systems Group is able to provide complete operational support and upgrades to new Airborne Platforms supported by RTN UK including the Sentinel Mission Systems.
The role will involve undertaking Test Procedure development, review and perform test Dry Runs. Carry out internal and formal Unit, System level Verification, Validation and Regression Testing under the direction of the Lead Test Engineer. Undertake operational support of the Mission system and its components.
The Test engineer will report directly to the Sentinel Mission System Group Lead Test Engineer. 

Main Duties:
Software Requirements Analysis.
Detailed design and implement System\Software test solutions to support the aircraft mission systems.
Design and document test strategies and procedures.
Perform internal and formal Unit, System level Verification, Validation and Regression Testing.
Responsible for ensuring the software product meets the correct standards and customer requirement for delivery.
Liaise with the customer community to understand their issues and concerns.

Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Knowledge of software development lifecycle phases & practices.
Proven Software engineering capability and someone who can anticipate problems and plan to mitigate them.
High Competency of   Software Engineering principles.
Systems level experience in the integration and test phase of the systems lifecycle.
An able communicator in verbal, written and presentational forms.
A logical problem solver who can operate effectively under stretching project constraints.
Self motivated, self organising engineer looking to move to the next level and a Team Player.
Experience of working within a Scrum development team.

Desirable:
ISTQB Certified Tester
OO Design \ UML
COM/DCOM
Visual Basic
Windows System Administration
Recent experience of using C#, .NET, WPF/NServiceBus, TFS, DOORS.
Software Security
SQL Server

Experience with any of the following would also be considered as beneficial:
Military comms/datalinks - especially Link16
MilStd 1553 Serial Communications Protocol.
Military avionic systems
Image handling and processing
ArcGIS Runtime for .NET
ArcMap/ArcGIS Server
Advanced networking and routing (TCP/IP, CISCO).

Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance (RSL will sponsor as required)
