Cyber Security Analyst: £Competitive DOE

About Huawei:

Huawei is the largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer in the world.  At Huawei, we develop world-leading enterprise, carrier and consumer devices and sell to 45 of the top 50 operators world-wide including leading UK providers.  Products range from the latest Android smart phones and dongles through to large core network telecommunications solutions.

Huawei have established a Cyber Security Evaluation Centre in the historic market town of Banbury, Oxfordshire with a team of highly-skilled security analysts seeking to improve the overall security of Huawei core telecommunications products.

About the Job:

Working in, or leading small multi-discipline teams you will set about the evaluation of Huawei core telecommunications products. Activities include:

  • Penetration testing
  • Exploit development
  • Ethical hacking  & Vulnerability research
  • Source Code analysis
  • Security Design analysis
  • Development of bespoke cyber security evaluation capabilities

This opportunity will allow you to gain experience on a wide-range of technologies, from Windows to VxWorks with development languages including C, C++, Java and Python, differing processor architectures and bespoke real-time systems. Experience of C is a mandatory requirement.

What we expect:

We are seeking security analysts with a genuine passion for cyber security.  This position isn’t a regular penetration testing job – this will push your skills to the limits.  You’ll need to be able to demonstrate your ability to exploit vulnerable systems – but these aren’t the standard Windows target – we have different architectures – SPARC, MIPS, ARM and a range of custom ASICs.  There probably isn’t a tool for what you want to do – we expect you to create one. We’re going after the LTE network, the mobile core, the super-fast broadband network, the backhaul, the optical transmission – the full works.

Given the unique nature of the cyber security challenge all applicants must be able to obtain UK security clearance (DV standard).

What you get in return:

  • Competitive salary
  • Performance related bonus and other benefits
  • The opportunity to further your career in cyber security in a telecommunications environment
