Your experience of managing civil works for electrical transmission projects will prove vital to these exciting roles with my client, working on onshore substation projects for offshore wind power.

They are looking for two Contract Project Managers; one to oversee the cabling side of the projects (until Spring 2018) and one to oversee the substation side (until end of 2018).

The roles will involve close liaison and coordination with the construction, engineering and wider project teams (consents, land, stakeholder management) to ensure timely delivery and quality of submissions according to the needs of the project.

About the job:

Responsibilities include:

Ensuring that Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental requirements are met
Ensuring delivery of the ONCA Civil (Trenching & Ducting) and Enabling (Site Enabling, Access and Welfare) works on time and within budget;
Liaison with onshore project management, engineering, construction and consents teams;
Liaison with Client and OFTO management teams including commercial, legal and land management aspects of the project
Track expenditure and technical performance and intervene where this does not meet requirements.
Hold regular meetings with the wider team to track progress;
Identify and manage interfaces between the ONCA Civil and Enabling works and the rest of the project and other relevant bodies (such as external suppliers and contractors);
Participate in and/or oversee reporting and forecasting ensuring that it is delivered as required to the project;
Represent the IEC ONCA Civil and Enabling package in project meetings
Manage the structure and personnel within the Civil and Enabling project team to meet the project requirements;
Provide support for land owner discussions and agreements when requested;
Provide support to Client's Stakeholder Management team when requested;
Provide support for discussions with 3rd party crossings and coordinate the progress of crossing agreements if necessary.

To be considered for these roles, applicants will need to have significant experience in managing Civil works for electrical transmission project, including issues such as:

Contract management experience including variations and claims
Experience in major UK onshore infrastructure construction projects
Knowledge of specification, design, maintenance, construction and commissioning of either civil, electrical and/or overhead line and cable works
Detailed understanding of 3rd party and land agreements, consent planning and/or discharge of conditions
Proven ability to lead and work in a team and contractors environment
